Suzuki e-Access First Ride Review: Easy, Quiet and Built for the City

Suzuki has entered the electric scooter market in India with its first electric scooter – the e-Access. Based on the well-known Access 125, this new version brings the same trusted performance in an all-electric format. We had a chance to take a short ride at MECO Kartopia in Bengaluru and here’s what we learned about this new scooter.

Looks and Design

At first glance, the Suzuki e-Access looks like a regular petrol scooter. It doesn’t scream “electric” until you spot the “e-Access” badge on the side panels. The design stays simple and familiar, which is good for daily users who want comfort and reliability.

Suzuki has added a modern touch with a colour TFT display (4.2-inch screen). This shows battery level, speed, range, and even energy consumption. It also supports Bluetooth connectivity for phone alerts, navigation, and weather or traffic updates.

The scooter follows the clean and practical design of the Access 125 but adds a more future-ready look.

Motor and Battery Performance

The e-Access is powered by a 3.07 kWh LFP battery and a 4.1 kW BLDC motor, producing 15 Nm torque. These numbers may not look exciting on paper, but once you ride it, the experience feels quick and energetic.

The scooter is silent, smooth, and quick to move, making it great for city roads. Suzuki claims a range of 95 km (IDC-certified), which is decent for daily travel needs.

It also comes with:

  • Three riding modes
  • Regenerative braking
  • Reverse mode

These features help improve comfort and make daily riding easier.

Ride Quality and Handling

The scooter feels light and easy to handle, just like the petrol Access 125. Even new riders or city commuters will find it simple to use. The throttle response is smooth, and the ride is quiet, which adds to the overall pleasant experience.

Safety and Comfort Features

Some useful features on the e-Access include:

  • Reverse assist
  • Smart energy display
  • Turn-by-turn navigation
  • Good ground clearance
  • Strong body build

It offers a practical alternative to fuel-based scooters without being too complicated. The riding modes are well-tuned and match various city conditions, whether slow traffic or open roads.

Expected Price and Competition

Though Suzuki hasn’t confirmed the price yet, the e-Access is expected to launch around ₹1 lakh to ₹1.10 lakh (ex-showroom). This puts it in competition with:

Final Verdict

The Suzuki e-Access is a no-nonsense electric scooter that balances features and practicality. It doesn’t try too hard to look futuristic but gives you everything you need for everyday use:

  • Trusted design
  • Useful features
  • Reliable performance
  • Comfortable ride

It’s a solid choice for those looking to switch from petrol to electric without any confusion. If Suzuki prices it right, this scooter could become a popular option in the EV market.
