There is good news for hotels, restaurants, and small businesses that use commercial gas cylinders. On July 1, 2025, the Indian government reduced the prices of commercial LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) cylinders by Rs 58.50. This price cut is now effective from today. However, there is no change in the prices of domestic LPG cylinders used in households.
This step by oil marketing companies comes as a monthly price revision which usually takes place on the first day of every month. While people were hoping for a price cut in domestic cooking gas as well, the reduction has been made only in the commercial category this time.
New Commercial Cylinder Rates Across Cities
After today’s price cut, the new price of a 19-kilogram commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi is now Rs 1665. Earlier, it was being sold at Rs 1723.50. This is a clear drop of Rs 58.50 per cylinder.
Here are the updated prices in major cities:
- Delhi: Rs 1665 (earlier Rs 1723.50)
- Kolkata: Rs 1769 (earlier Rs 1826)
- Mumbai: Rs 1616.50 (earlier Rs 1674.50)
- Chennai: Rs 1823.50 (earlier Rs 1881)
This change will help hotels, tea stalls, and roadside eateries save money, as they use commercial gas cylinders daily in large amounts.
No Change in Domestic LPG Prices
While commercial users got some relief, people who use gas for cooking at home have not received any change. The 14.2 kg domestic gas cylinder price remains the same. Many families were expecting a cut in domestic LPG prices due to rising household expenses, but the government has not made any changes in that area this month.
Previous Price Cut in June
This is not the first time the prices of commercial LPG have been cut recently. In June 2025, the price of commercial LPG was reduced by Rs 24. After that reduction, the price of a 19-kg cylinder in Delhi came down to Rs 1723.50 from Rs 1747.50.

In Kolkata, after the June cut, the price was Rs 1826, and in Chennai, it dropped to Rs 1881. These regular monthly price changes are based on international fuel rates and domestic factors.
Why the Price Cut Matters
The drop in prices helps business owners and reduces some pressure on small food sellers who rely on commercial gas for their cooking needs. Even a small change in price makes a big difference for those using multiple cylinders in a month.
However, many households are still waiting for some good news on the domestic gas front. With the high cost of living and increasing prices of other items, a cut in household gas prices would bring much-needed relief to families.
Final Words
To sum up, the government has given a Rs 58.50 relief on commercial LPG cylinders, bringing cheer to small businesses and food vendors. The new prices are effective from July 1, 2025. But there is no change in domestic LPG cylinder prices, which means families must still pay the same rate for cooking gas at home.
