Engineer Played 175 Matches for Lancashire
Farokh Engineer played for Lancashire between 1968 and 1976. During this time, he appeared in 175 matches, scored 5,942 runs, took 429 catches, and made 35 stumpings. When he joined Lancashire, the club had not won a major trophy for over 15 years. But with Engineer’s help, they won the Gillette Cup four times between 1970 and 1975.

Farokh Engineer made his debut for India in 1961 and played until 1975. He is considered one of India’s finest wicketkeepers. He played 46 Test matches and 5 One Day Internationals (ODIs) for India. In Test cricket, he scored 2,611 runs at an average of 31.08. In ODIs, he scored 114 runs. He also took a total of 69 catches and did several stumpings for India.
His fearless batting and strong wicketkeeping made him a fan favourite. He was known for playing bravely against top bowlers, and he gave his best in every match for India.
Clive Lloyd Also Gets a Stand in His Name
Along with Engineer, West Indies legend Clive Lloyd will also get a stand named after him. Lloyd was with Lancashire for nearly 20 years and helped the team in many important victories. He is one of the greatest cricketers in the world and has also served as West Indies’ captain.
Both these cricketers gave a big part of their careers to Lancashire, and the club wants to honour their legacy.
