On Thursday, June 12, 2025, around 1:30 PM, an Air India flight going from Ahmedabad to London crashed soon after take-off. The flight had 242 people on board.
The crash was very serious. The plane caught fire and was completely destroyed. Most passengers died on the spot. Only one person survived.

“This is a very sad and shocking incident for the whole country. I met the only survivor. The rescue teams have done a great job. We are collecting DNA from family members to identify the dead bodies.”
Amit Shah also said the plane had over 1.25 lakh liters of fuel, which caused a huge fire. That made it hard to save anyone.
What Aviation Minister Said
Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu said:
“We are shocked and deeply sad. We will start a full investigation. We will find out the real reason behind this accident. Right now, our focus is on helping families.”
