Tata Motors has officially unveiled its product strategy for the coming years during an investor meet. The automaker will launch 7 brand-new vehicles by FY2030, including a mix of ICE (petrol/diesel) and electric cars. The iconic Tata Sierra is set to be the brand’s next big launch, followed by futuristic EVs under the Avinya sub-brand.
In addition, Tata plans to give 23 updates across its existing car lineup and is working on a new turbo-petrol engine for Harrier and Safari.
7 New Cars by 2030: Petrol, Diesel, and EV Mix
Tata has confirmed that it will launch 3 ICE vehicles and 4 EVs by the end of FY2030.
Upcoming Cars Include:
- Tata Sierra (ICE version first, then EV)
- Avinya and Avinya X (Premium electric SUVs)
- 2 new ICE cars (details not yet revealed)
- 2 new electric cars (details awaited)
The Tata Sierra, which was last showcased at Auto Expo 2025, is expected to launch by the end of this year. It has already been spotted testing on Indian roads.
Following the Sierra, Tata will introduce the Avinya and Avinya X under a premium EV lineup. Avinya X will feature a futuristic SUV coupe design with modern styling elements.
23 Model Updates: Keeping the Lineup Fresh
Tata won’t just launch new cars but will also refresh existing models to keep them competitive. The company will roll out 23 updates, including:
- Facelifts
- Model Year Updates
- Special Editions
These updates will apply to models like the Tiago, Tigor, Punch, Nexon, Curvv, Harrier, Safari, and Altroz, across both ICE and EV versions.
New 1.5L Turbo Petrol Engine for Harrier & Safari
Tata also announced that the Harrier and Safari SUVs will get a new 1.5-litre TGDi turbo-petrol engine by FY2026. This powertrain update will boost their performance and efficiency and is part of Tata’s efforts to expand its petrol SUV portfolio.

Tata Sierra Launch by Late 2025
All eyes are currently on the Tata Sierra, which will be the first of the 7 new cars to launch. The SUV will initially be launched as an ICE model, with the electric version to follow.
Sierra’s comeback marks a nostalgic return to Indian roads, this time with bold modern styling and future-ready features.
