KL Rahul has done something very special in Indian cricket history. On 12 July 2025, during the third day of the Lord’s Test match against England, the Indian opener scored his second century at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground in London. With this, he became only the second Indian player ever to score more than one Test century at Lord’s.
This achievement makes Rahul’s name shine in Indian cricket. Before him, only the legendary Dilip Vengsarkar had scored more than one Test hundred at Lord’s—and he had done it three times. Smart and Aggressive Batting
On Day 3, Rahul came out with a more aggressive mindset. He began scoring quickly, hitting regular boundaries. In one over from England’s Brydon Carse, he even smashed three boundaries in a row. With strong support from Rishabh Pant, India’s score crossed 250 runs in the first innings.
Just before lunch, Rahul was on 98 runs, but there was a small problem. A misunderstanding with Pant during a run attempt led to Pant getting run out. Rahul had to wait until after lunch to complete his century.

Unfortunately, Rahul could not continue much longer after reaching the century. He was soon dismissed by Shoaib Bashir. He scored 100 runs from 177 balls, including 13 fours.
Even though he didn’t go on to make a bigger score, the value of his century was huge. It gave India a solid base and also made cricket history.
